PERIOD BRIEFS

Love Luna period briefs are designed to absorb your menstrual flow and can be washed and reused.  Better for you and Muma Earth! They can be worn on their own or as a backup with another sanitary item. This depends on your flow!

Remember to keep a watchful eye over your briefs and change them before their capacity is reached.

With Love Luna period briefs, you can ditch the bulky pads and leave the wings on the runway!

Our briefs feature a super comfy inbuilt pad with four layers of protection. See How it works

1. We recommend you try them on a lighter day of your period or when you are at home. This is your ‘experiment’ day when you can learn how your briefs work for you.

2. Each pair of our Period Briefs hold different capacities of menstrual flow. To choose the best pair for you, head to the product description drop down on each style to find out more about the briefs absorbency capacity. Remember Luna Lover, only you know your flow so use this as a guide and change as needed.

3. If you want to change them less often, then wear them with another sanitary item like a menstrual cup or tampon.

4. Now that you’re confident, you can wear your briefs anywhere you like...just not in water!

Rinse your Luna briefs with cold water as soon as you can after removal until the water starts to run clear.  Pop them in a Luna Washbag, this will help them last longer, with the rest of your washing and wash with like colours on a cold water cycle (max 30 degrees). Then rely on Muma Earth to line dry them.  Did you know sunlight has natural anti-microbial properties that are good for your undies?

Pretty please do NOT:

• Soak (this will ruin their technology)

• Add softener or bleach when washing them

• Tumble dry

• Iron

• Dry clean

We have different absorbencies for every flow.
Medium: Holds 10-15ml (2-3 regular tampons)
Medium+: Holds 15-20ml (3-4 regular tampons)
Super: Holds up to 40ml (5-6 regular tampons)
LBL: Holds up to 40ml (8 teaspoons)

This really depends on you and your flow.  If you use them exclusively, we would suggest 7-10 pairs of Luna’s in a single cycle. If you use them with other sanitary products as back-up around 3-5 pairs.

Sadly, we can’t tell you this! Assessing the capacity of the briefs and comparing this with how many sanitary items you use in a day is really important. It’s also important to keep in mind that if your flow changes from day to day, then the way you use your briefs will change, too.

If you think that your flow is nearing the capacity of your briefs (which depends on the style of the brief), then it’s time to change them. We have thousands of Luna lovers successfully wearing our products solo however we also appreciate this may not work for everyone. Therefore, other Luna lovers prefer to wear their Lunas with additional backup, e.g. a menstrual cup or reusable pad, on days 1, 2 and 3 and then go solo for the rest. Some Luna lovers might wear an additional sanitary item for every day of their cycle. It depends on your flow!

It could be due to one or more of the following. Ask yourself these questions:

1.) Have all proper care instructions been followed?
If they're not, then this can damage the technology of the briefs.

2.) Does your flow exceed the indicated capacity of the briefs?
Full briefs hold 3-4 regular tampons worth of flow which is 15-20 ml. If your flow exceeds this, you might need to use them as a backup, rather than as your primary source of protection.

3.) Is your version of a ‘light’ period more than the capacity of the briefs?
Everyone's version of light, medium and heavy is different. For some people, ‘light’ it is about 1-2 regular tampons of flow, for others it is 3-4 regular tampons throughout the day.  The maximum capacity of our most absorbent period brief is 3-4 regular tampons. You may consider your period to be light, but it may still exceed this capacity.

Our light bladder leakage briefs hold 40ml (or about 8 teaspoons). Did you know you can also use our LBL briefs for a heavy period too!

It could be due to one or more of the following. Ask yourself these questions:

1.) Have all proper care instructions been followed?
If they're not, then this can damage the technology of the briefs.

2.) Does your amount of urinary leakage exceed the indicated capacity of the briefs?
Our midis, full briefs and maternity briefs hold 8 teaspoons of urine. If this amount is exceeded, then leaks can happen. Make sure to change them before the capacity is reached!

MENSTRUAL CUP

Our Luna Menstrual Cup is a beautiful streamlined menstrual cup, made from premium FDA registered medical grade silicone. It is designed to collect your menstrual flow.

It is considered a firmer style cup and the silicone will soften as it warms up inside your body. At first it can appear to be a bit larger than most cups but we have found that once you get the hang of inserting this cup you will find it will be one of the most comfortable cups you have ever used.

Menstrual cups are sustainable alternatives to disposable sanitary products as they can be used again and again. Your Cup will last approximately 10 years.

Before you use your menstrual cup, you must sterilise it. You can use a sterilising tablet, sterilise your cup in the microwave or sterilise your cup on the stove. See the link below for further information about cup sterilisation.

Inserting the Cup:

It is super important to wash your hands with soap before and after you use any menstrual product.

To make the cup easier to insert, you can rinse it under warm water. When the cup is warm, it’s easier to manipulate.

To insert your cup into your vaginal canal, you must fold it. You can either fold in one side of the cup to make the mouth of the cup smaller, creating a tulip-like shape, or you can flatten the cup and fold it in half length-ways, making the mouth of the cup smaller.

To insert your cup, make sure you’re relaxed. Hold your cup in its folded position with your index finger and your thumb. Gently insert it into your vagina. Your cup will pop open. To make sure that it has popped open, feel the base of your cup and make sure that it’s rounded, soft and bouncy. If the cup hasn’t popped open, twist it to make it pop open properly or remove it and try again.

Your cup shouldn’t be too low that you can feel the stem poking out but you should always be able to reach the stem, so it shouldn’t be too high. If your cup is in correctly, you won’t be able to feel it at all.

If your cup is in the right position but the stem still pokes out, use your scissors to trim your stem to a length that suits you.

Removing the Cup:

Once your cup is in, it’s recommended that you change it every 4 to 8 hours, depending on your flow. Never leave a menstrual product in your body for more than 8 hours as bacteria can build up.

To remove your cup, get into a comfortable sitting or standing position. Grab the stem and gently wriggle it until you can grab the base of the cup. Pinch the cup at the base to break the seal and gently remove it from your vagina, making sure that it’s upright the entire time. If the cup is tilted in any way, spillage can occur!

Empty your cup and then rinse it or wash it with gentle soap or menstrual cup wash before inserting it again. When washing your cup, you can scrub it with your fingers or a sterilised toothbrush. If you do not have access to a private basin where you can clean your cup, make sure that you bring a bottle of water into the bathroom with your so that you can rinse your cup over the toilet.

At the end of your period, sterilise your cup again. Place it out in the sun to dry then pop it into its storage bag or container.

RETURNS

We do not offer returns or exchanges on any sanitary products due to selection error or change of mind. This is because we cannot resell sanitary products that have been handled by customers in any way. Love Luna upholds strict hygiene standards and complies with the Australian Government Department of Health: Therapeutic Goods Administration standards.

We want every Love Luna customer to be satisfied with their purchase. Therefore, we provide as much information to customers as possible before they make a purchase, including product function, composition information and a detailed size chart. This way, customers can purchase the correct products for their needs. We believe that the comprehensive product information we provide mitigates the risk of selection error or change of mind.

We will accept returns only if the following conditions are met and can be proven with evidence:

1. Goods were purchased from the Love Luna website

2. Goods are faulty, have been wrongly described, are different to the product purchased on the website or do not perform the function advertised.

If these conditions are met, you can choose between a refund or exchange to the same value.

You must notify Love Luna of your intention to return your item/s within 30 days of receiving them.

We are unable to make changes to an order after a customer has placed it. This is because our orders accrue in large numbers and must be processed in sequence by our warehouse, and changing orders would disrupt this sequence and cause delays for the processing of other orders.

SWIM

Think you can't swim on your period? Think again! Luna Swim is here, designed to protect you from sneaky leaks in and out of the water. Perfect for light periods, bladder leaks, those spotting days in-between or when you're not quite sure your period will arrive.

Four absorbent layers of protection in the gusset work to trap and absorb your period so it does not leak.

Once in the laundry with detergent, the blood is released through the top layer. Reminder: Wash in a cold cycle, no fabric softener and do not tumble dry.

The layers in our swim range work to trap and absorb blood while in the water.
We do suggest if you are having a heavy flow day, to use our Swim range as a backup with our Luna Menstrual Cup.
