Team Luna: Self-Care on Our Period
We all know the benefits of self-care, but there is no time more important to practice it than while on your period.
High stress levels during your period can really impact your cycle, from worsening cramps to causing breakouts. Taking time for yourself shouldn't be a luxury, especially when you're bleeding, so we encourage you to take a step back during this time, go easy on yourself and do the least, however that looks for you!
We know that setting time aside for yourself can be hard, and honestly, where do you even start once you stop? So we asked the team what self-care looks like on their period, to get you feeling inspired, or even just a little less guilty for your Netflix binge.

I suffer from Endometriosis, so self-care during my period is super important. It often involves a full day in bed, setting boundaries and saying no, to myself and to others. It's really just about putting myself first and listening to what my body needs at any given time. If that's a full day of binging the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and ordering Red Rooster, then so be it.

I practice self-care by taking extra time to rest and re-energise. As an active person, I adjust to just do gentle movement like pilates or slow walks, and I avoid running or intense workouts during this time. I have the extra snacks guilt-free (chocolate ofc!), and you'll definitley find me binging TV shows a bit more than usual.

I make my favourite cup of tea, put on a facemask and curl up with my fluffy blanket and watch a rom-com. Sometimes I'll go for brisk walks to get fresh air and a little movement. I love to take everything showers, especially with my favourite essential oils and then put on my trackies.

Self-care for me during that time of the month is just taking it SLOW for once. Slow movement like taking the dog for a walk, taking a moment to sip my coffee outside in the morning sun before starting the day and buying takeaway for dinner instead of cooking.
